Species Description

Aurinia saxatilis (L.) Desv. (Alyssum saxatile L.) - Golden Alison.

Densely hairy perennial to 45cm; petals usually bright yellow; fruit 3-8mm, more or less orbicular, glabrous, more or less flat; (2n=16). Neophyte-naturalised; commonly grown in gardens and seeding abundantly, sometimes escaping on to walls and dry banks; scattered in Britain, Isle of Man, County Antrim; Central & South East Europe.
