Species Description
Stace 4:
Nymphaea x marliacea Lat.-Marl. - Coloured Water-lily.
Closely resembling N. alba but with flowers at least tinged with yellow, pink or red. Neophyte-naturalised; planted in ponds and lakes and increasing vegetatively; throughout Britain. A name used to cover horticultural hybrids between N. alba and the North American N. mexicana Zucc., N. odorata Aiton and N. tuberosa Paine; yellow petals are derived from the first of these.
