Species Description
Very scattered as a garden escape throughout the UK though mainly in the South (46 records according to NBN). It is commonly grown in gardens. Habitat includes: disturbed places near to cultivation such as rough ground, wasteland, curbs, base of walls etc. Growing habit: Perennial. Height: Up to 80 cm. Flowers: Summer. Introduced into British gardens in 1714 and was first recorded in the wild in 1917.

Neophyte-casual; grown in gardens, occasionally persistent in rough ground and waste places; scattered in Central and Southern Britain, Dumfriesshire, Isle of Man; North America.
