Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout England and Wales up until the Humber. Further North it becomes quite scarce and local. Habitat includes: Disturbed, dry, grassy places such as rough grassland, meadows, roadside verges, hedgerows, scrub, woodland edge, coastal cliffs, field margins, wasteland etc. Flowers: May to August. Growing habit: Annual. Other names include: Smooth Vetch, Lentil Vetch, Sparrow Vetch, Ervum tetraspermum (old name). Height: Up to 60 cm. It is in decline.
