Species Description
Widespread but scarce and locally frequent along the western side of England and Eastern Wales; existing mainly in Wales and the Bristol region, the Midlands and parts of the South East; scattered elsewhere. Habitat includes: woodland (particularly under Beech), moist limestone rocks (limestone pavement), screes, rivers / stream sides, damp roadside verges etc. Growing habit: Biennial. Height: Up to 80 cm. Flowers: June to July.

Annual or biennial; stems erect, to 80cm, little or not branched, with many leaves with 7-23 entire to serrate leaflets; petals 1.5-3.5mm, white, sometimes 0; stamens 6; (2n=16). Native; damp woods and riverbanks; locally frequent in Britain North to South Scotland but absent from South West, Central East & North East England, Westmeath.
