Habitat includes: Mildly to strongly acidic soils in open, muddy ground, usually subject to winter waterlogging in places such as trampled field entrances, compacted arable fields, allotments, margins of reservoirs, summer-dry ponds trampled by cattle, rutted tracks on heaths, wet woodland rides etc. Growing habit: Annual. Flowers: July to September. Height: Up to 20 cm.
