Species Description

Widespread throughout the UK but uncommon. It is most common along the boarder between Wales and England. Commonly escapes from gardens. Habitat includes: woodland (on limestone and acidic), grikes of limestone pavement, fens. Other names include: May Bells, May Lily, Our Lady's Tears, Mary's Tears, muguet (French), glovewort, Apollinaris. Height: Up to 30 cm. Rhizomatous Perennial. Flowers: May to June.
