Species Description

Scattered in the North (Scotland), rare in England. Diploid - paired chromosomes (50% from each parent).

ssp. maculatum

Sparsely branched, with the branches subtending an angle with the main stem of 30°, the leaves lacking transparent glands; the sepals 1.8 to 3 mm wide with the tip entire (not toothed), black glands on petals mainly as flat dots. Sparsely scattered over Scotland; rarer in England.
