Species Description
Widespread but local throughout England, Wales and parts of Southern Scotland. Habitats include: Neutral to calcareous rich soils (especially clays that are wet in winter but baked dry in summer) in places such as hay meadows, pastures, chalk / limestone downland, field-borders, railway banks, wasteland, shingle banks, fixed sand dunes, rough grassland, hedge banks, roadsides verges etc. Flowers: July to September. Perennial. Height: Up to 1.2 m.
