Species Description
Widespread along the coasts of England, Wales, Ireland and parts of Scotland. Habitat includes: Estuaries / tidal rivers (near - high water mark), saltmarshes (soft, silty substrates, firmer areas of mud, sea-walls, mudflats etc. Biennial / Perennial. Other names include: Long-leaved Scurvygrass. Flowers: April to July. Full of Vitamin C and was used by sailors to help prevent scurvy. Height: Up to 40 cm.
