Species Description
Widespread and local in the southern half of the UK on lighter well-drained calcareous soils such as limestone grassland, dry hillsides, old quarries etc.

Ssp. collina (Wallr.) Nyman.
Stolons 0; middle stem-leaves mostly with 15-27 usually entire leaflets, the terminal one about as wide as the mid laterals; 2n=28. Dry calcareous soils in South & Central Britain.
