Species Description
Widespread but uncommon throughout the UK and absent from much of Eastern England. Habitat includes: ponds, lakes, slow-flowing rivers, swamps, flushes, dune-slacks, fens, bogs etc. Growing habit: Rhizomatous Perennial. Height: Up to 30 cm. Flowers: April to June.

Stems procumbent or floating, to 1.5m; racemes ≤30cm; flowers 1.5-2cm across; 2n=54. Native; in shallow water, bogs and fens; locally common throughout British Isles, rare in many parts of England, formerly Channel Islands.
