Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Places with still of slow-moving fresh water such as ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, canals, ditches, dykes, rhynes etc. Growing habit: Perennial. Flowers: June to September. Other names include: Long-root Smartweed, Water Knotweed, Water Smartweed.
