Stems erect to ascending, to 1.2(1.5)m; basal and lower stem-leaves elliptic-oblong, gradually contracted to narrowly cuneate base; upper stem-leaves usually shallowly serrate to subentire; capitula (5)6-10cm across, often floro pleno. Neophyte-naturalised; abundant in gardens and fertile, well naturalised in waste and rough ground and grassy waysides; frequent throughout Britain and Isle of Man, scattered in Ireland and Channel Islands; garden origin. There about the identity of this plant; rather than a hybrid it might be L lacustre itself.
