Species Description
Common and widespread throughout the UK except for the West where it is scarce. Habitat includes: Places with rich, well-drained soil such as arable land, wasteland, coasts, road side verges, woodland rides, hedge banks etc. Flowers: May to October. Growing habit: Annual to short-lived Perennial. Height: 40 - 80 cm. Fossil records date from the Bronze Age onwards. It is native to the Eurosiberian Southern-temperate region. Its distribution is now Circumpolar Southern-temperate.
