Species Description
Widespread and locally common but declining throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Disturbed places with light, well-drained soils such as arable land, roadside verges, dunes, wasteland etc.

Lycopsis arvensis L. (Anchusa arvensis (L.) M. Bieb.) - Bugloss.
Hispid, procumbent to erect annual to 50cm; leaves undulate, crenate; calyx divided nearly to base; corolla zygomorphic (corolla-lobes slightly unequal), blue, with tube 4-7mm, with limb 4-6mm across; (2n=48). Archaeophyte-denizen; weed of arable and rough ground on light, acid or calcareous soils; locally common throughout lowland British Isles.
