Species Description
Fairly common and widespread throughout the South but more local and scattered in the North. Habitat includes: Disturbed nutrient-rich places near habitation such as hedgerows, field margins, walls, roadside verges, wasteland etc. Growing habit: foetid perennial. Flowers: June to September. Height: Up to 1 m. Has existed in Britain since the Iron age. It has declined in the North and West.
