Species Description
Native to the eastern Mediterranean and the Caucasus. It is occasionally grown for ornament. It looks superficially like Acer campestre but the leaves are larger, more deeply lobed and serrate and the fruits look not too dissimilar to Sorbus torminalis. Other names include: Three-lobed Apple and Erect Crab Apple. There are a handful of records around Cambridge and Leicester.
