Species Description
Stace 4:
Leycesteria formosa Wall. - Himalayan Honeysuckle.
Stems erect, to 2m; leaves 5-18cm, ovate, acuminate at apex; bracts 12-35mm; corolla 10-20mm, pinkish-purple; fruit purple, subglobose, about 1cm; (2n=18). Neophyte-naturalised; woods, shrubberies and rough ground, often appearing unexpectedly from bird-sown seed; scattered more or less throughout British Isles; Himalayas.
