Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK. Habitat includes: woodland, hedge banks, commons, downs, scrub, railway banks, roadside verges, wasteland, fields, heaths, basic crags and ravines, below base-rich cliffs etc. Growing habit: Perennial. Height: Up to 1.5 m. Flowers: May to August. It spreads via suckers (underground runners) and is dispersed by birds. Other names include: Wild Raspberry, Red Raspberry, European Red Raspberry.
