Species Description
Widespread throughout the South but local. Habitat includes: Anywhere with Common Hogweed such as scrub, meadows, grassland, woodland, marshland, roadside verges etc. Length: 7 - 11 mm. Flight period: May to June. Larvae seen: Mid-June to September. Diet: Larvae = unknown but they use Dewberry on the Continent, Adults = Pollen and nectar from Umbellifers such as Cow Parsley, Common Hogweed etc.
