Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK. Habitat includes: meadows, woodland rides, hedgerows etc. Length: 8 - 11 mm. April to July (sometimes August - second generation). Life story: Larvae are nocturnal feeders. Diet: White Clover (may use other Clovers and Trefoils), Adult: Pollen and Nectar from Buttercups, Umbellifers, Thistles. ID: The base of the antennal segment is usually partially yellow.
