Species Description
Common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Anywhere with Sycamore and other Maple species such as gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, farmland, hedgerows, woodland, roadside verges, scrub, wasteland etc. Other names include: Tarspot Fungus. Seen: Summer to Autumn. Life story: It overwinters on fallen leaves. Fresh spores are produced in Spring, these have a sticky coating. The spores attach themselves to the new leaves as they form.
