Species Description
Widespread and fairly common throughout the Southern half of the UK, becoming scarce beyond Wales. Habitat includes: Wherever Thistles grow e.g. gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, roadside verges, wasteland, grassland, meadows, coasts etc. Flight period: June to July. Wingspan: 27 - 33 mm. Length: 30 mm. Caterpillar food plant: Various Thistles.
