Species Description

Fairly common and widespread throughout the UK particularly in the Southern half of the UK (UK's commonest day flying moth). Habitat includes: woodland clearings, meadows, coastal cliffs. Caterpillar food plant: Common Bird’s-foot Trefoil, but also occasionally on Greater Bird’s-foot Trefoil. Flight period: June to August. Wingspan= 30-38mm.
