Species Description

Common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Well vegetated areas such as gardens, parks, allotments, cemeteries, woodland, coast, grassland etc. Other names include: Great Black Slug. Seen from Spring to Autumn (sometimes winter in mild spells). Hibernates in frost free damp places such as soil, compost heaps, under rocks / logs etc. Length: Up to 180 mm.
