Species Description
An introduced species from the USA in the late 19th century it is now common and widespread throughout England, Wales, N. Ireland and pockets of Scotland. Where it has overtaken the Native Red squirrel. Habitat includes: gardens, parks, hedgerows, woodland, cemeteries, allotments. Life span: up to 9 years. Measurements: Length, Body= 23-30cm, tail= 19-25cm. Weight (adult)= 400-600gm.
