Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK but scarce in Scotland. Habitat includes: woodland rides and edges, hedgerows, scrub, churchyards, gardens, parks etc. Life story: the larvae are arboreal and feed on aphids and the adults exploit a wide range of flowers. Flight period: April to November (two generations).
