Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Almost anywhere but prefers drier, flower-rich sites such as coasts, meadows, wasteland, gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards etc. Flight period: May to October. A migrant species from Mainland Europe which fluctuates in number from year to year. Nectars on Thistles, Oxeye Daisy, Brambles.
