Species Description

Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK but mainly around Wales. Habitat includes: Damp, umbellifer-rich places such as woodland, carr etc. Flight period: May to October (Peaks - July to August). Life story: Larvae develop in the mudded margins besides wooded ponds and streams. Wing length: 6 - 7.25 mm.
