Species Description

Widespread and locally common throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Warm, sunny, sparsely-vegetated sites such as grassland, coasts, heathland, wasteland, churchyards etc. Life story: The larvae are feed on aphids. Length: 4.3 - 5.9 mm. Other names include: Black-backed Grass Skimmer.
