Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Flower-rich sites in places such as gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, meadows, roadside verges, wasteland, woodland, wetland etc. Diet: Adults = Pollen and Nectar from Umbellifers (especially Angelica), Thistles, Knapweeds, Sow-thistles. Flight period: April to October (peaks June to August). Wing length: 9 - 12.25 mm.
