Common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: marshes, swamps, muddy pond margins, ditches, rivers, ponds, lakes etc. Growing habit: Perennial. Height: Up to 1 m. Flowers: May to August. Forms floating rafts in shallow water. Other names include: Water Manna-grass. Chromosomes: 2n = 40.
