Species Description

Widespread and fairly frequent in the southern half of the UK. Habitat includes: flower-rich meadows, heaths, wasteland, road verges, woodland rides etc. Life story: the larvae parasitise bumblebees. Flight period: May to October. Length: 7 - 15 mm.
