Species Description
Common and widespread in the Southern half of the UK; scarcer in the North. Habitat includes: Meadows, hedgerows, roadside verges etc. Life story: The larvae are predatory and feed in muddy pools and damp leaf litter. Adults nectar on various flowers, especially umbellifers. Flight period: May to October.
