Species Description
Common and widespread in the West, the Midlands and the far South East; local elsewhere. Habitat includes: gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, wasteland, scrub, woodland, hedgerows, roadside verges etc. Flight period: May to August. Length: 4 - 5 mm. Life story: Feeds on small insects such as midges.
