Species Description

Common and widespread in the UK. Habitat includes: Meadows, hedgerows, gardens, allotments. Adults take the pollen and nectar of various flowers. I've seen a preference to yellow, open flowers particularly in the daisy family/composite or Asteraceae such as Common fleabane. The larvae are found on carcasses.
