Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent in England and Wales but appears absent from Scotland. It is probably under-recorded. Habitat includes: Anywhere with Burdock's (Arctium) such as gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, woodland, hedgebanks, scrub, fields, field margins, roadside verges, railway banks, coasts, wasteland etc. Flight period: June to August. Life story: The larvae feed on Burdock's and cause galls to form.
