Species Description

Widespread and fairly frequent in the South, becoming scarce and localised in the North. Habitat includes: damp places by lowland streams and rivers, roots and trunks of trees, rocks and boulders, tarmac, limestone rock ledges, walls etc. Other names include: Appleyard's Feather-moss, Low Scleropodium Moss.
