Species Description
Widespread throughout he Southern half of the UK. Most common in the South East. Habitat includes: Tall, dry grassy places such as grassland, meadows, sand dunes, coast, road side verges, wasteland etc. Life story: one generation per year with eggs being laid from spring to early Summer and new generation adults occurring from August Diet: Larvae = developing seeds from a variety of grasses. Length: 8 - 9 mm. Seen all year round.
