Species Description

Common and widespread throughout the UK. Habitat includes: Anywhere where Sycamore (other Acer's may also be used) grows e.g. gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, roadside verges, cycle paths, hedgerows, scrub, woodland, farmland etc. Seen: Late Spring to Autumn. Length: 3.2 to 4.3 mm. Life story: Overwinters as eggs laid in bark crevices and behind buds. The eggs hatch in early spring there is also a migration from late spring to early summer. All adults are winged.
