Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the South; scattered in the North. Habitat includes: On the foliage of trees and shrubs in places such as woodland, hedgerows, scrub, gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards etc. Life story: The name comes from the fact that courting males emit a high-pitched buzzing sound by vibrating their abdomens on a leaf. Length: Males = 4.5 mm, Females = 7.5 mm.
