Species Description

Widespread but uncommon along coastlines throughout the UK; rarely found inland. Habitat includes: Usually a marine species, often growing high up the shore where there is some freshwater input but occasionally occurs in eutrophic freshwaters inland where it can be quite abundant. Other names include: Green Bait-weed, Grass Kelp.
