  • Erythranthe moschata (Douglas ex Lindl.) G.L. Nesom (Mimulus moschatus Douglas ex Lindl.) (Musk) General Extinct Only record once in our region, in pavement cracks at Dyrham Park in 1994 by J.P. Martin.

  • Erythranthe guttata (DC.) G.L. Nesom (Mimulus guttatus DC.) (Monkeyflower) / Wetland Rare A rare introduction. Established in and besides ponds, streams and ditches. Found established in a stream west of Chew Magna in 1976 by J. Appleyard; in a drainage reservoir at Chew Magna in 1985 by B. Jennings (possibly the same locality); at Pool Farm, Nibley in 1991 by C. & M.A.R. Kitchen; in a stream at Horsecombe Vale, Combe Down in 1994 by G. Stone; and more recently in a valley mire and fields at Bell Farm, Compton Dando in 2000 by P. Quinn; at Bristol City Docks in 2003 by R.L. Bland; at Stockway North Nature Reserve, Nailsea in 2003 by A. Town; at ST56U in 2010s by ?; at ST47G in 2020s by ? [BSBI records]; at Dyrham Park in 2020 and in a pond at Westbury Wildlife Park in 2021 by D. Peters. First recorded in our region at Ellick Farm, Burrington Combe in 1915 by C.I. Sandwith.

  • Erythranthe guttata x E. lutea = E. x *robertsii (Silverside) G.L. Nesom (Mimulus guttatus x M. luteus = M. x robertsii* Silverside) (Hybrid Monkeyflower) Wetland Extinct Recorded in a stream at Compton Martin, North Somerset in 1984 by A.P. Pockson but not seen since 1988.

  • Erythranthe guttata x E. cuprea = E. x *burnetii* (S. Arn.) Silverside (Coppery Monkeyflower) [on DB as Mimulus x burnetii] Wetland Very Rare Recorded at Tyndall's Park, Bristol in 2002 by R.L. Bland.

  • Erythranthe lutea (L.) G.L. Nesom var. rivularis (Lindl.) Silverside (Blood-drop-emlets) - BSBI record General Extinct Recorded at ST57 in 1950 by ? [BSBI record] and at Dundry in 2002 by P. Quinn.

  • Erythranthe cuprea x E. x smithii = E. x *hybrida* (Siebert & Voss) Silverside (Copper-flowered x Smith's Monkeyflower?) - BSBI record General Very Rare Recorded on the steps of a house beside the harbour at Portishead Dock in 2013 by ? [BSBI record].

PAULOWNIACEAE - Foxglove-tree family

PAULOWNIA Siebold & Zucc.

  • Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steud. (var. tomentosa - Kew, GBIF) (Foxglove-tree) General Very Rare Widely planted for ornament, mostly around Bristol. Recorded at a landfill site on Aust Road, Elberton in 2013 by J. Mortin. A young plant was found self-seeded at the base of a wall on Church Road, Bishopston, Bristol in 2022 by D. Peters; and numerous seedlings were found along London Road, between Hanover Street and Upper East Hayes, Grosvenor, Bath in 2022 by H.J. Crouch [BSBI record].
