Marshland

There are essentially two types of Marsh, Inland Marsh (fresh water, land that does not drain well) and Salt Marsh (located near the coast). The majority of The Bristol regions lowlands were once marsh especially North Somerset. The most well known marsh areas known today has to be around the Somerset levels. Salt Marsh is most predominant along the Tidal reaches of the River Avon.
