William Hunt Painter
Born at Aston (near Birmingham), on the 16th of July 1835 and died on the 12th of October 1910. He was a nationally renowned botanist but focused much of his work on Derbyshire and in 1889 published the Flora of Derbyshire. He and his Wife lived at Bedminster, Bristol in 1881 - when he made the discovery of Pyrus cordata (Plymouth Pear) at Bishopsworth.
