Beetles:

• Tychius picirostris, 31st Jan, crawling over plant pot, my garden.
• Bembidion Unidentified 1, 5th Apr, crawling over bare muddy bank of pond, Horfield Common Wildlife Pond.
• Phyllotreta nemorum (Large Striped Flea Beetle), 25th Apr, my garden.
• Bembidion Unidentified 3, 8th May, crawling along muddy pond margin, Horfield Common Wildlife Pond.
• Chrysomelidae Unidentified 1 (Leaf Beetle Unidentified 1), 12th May, found on Purple Loosestrife, my garden.
• Stenus aceris, 21st May, found resting on a blade of grass, my garden.
• Graptus triguttatus, 21st May, missing its head - found when rummaging at the base of meadow plants, The Royals, Blaise Castle Estate.
• Podagrica fuscicornis, 21st Jun, swept from Marsh Mallow, Grow Wilder.
• Ceutorhynchus erysimi, 21st Jun, Grow Wilder. Found my Maico Weites.
• Cypha longicornis, 27th Jul, caught when sweeping in a meadow area, Horfield Common.
• Olibrus affinis, 27th Jul, caught in sweep net, Horfield Parish Churchyard.
• Xantholinus linearis, 28th Oct, my garden.

Bugs:

• Reptalus quinquecostatus (Five-ribbed Lacehopper), 16th Jul, spotted resting on a bramble stem (Rubus armeniacus) whilst picking blackberries on Horfield Common. A first record for the Bristol region!

Spiders:

• Araniella displicata (Six-spotted Orbweaver), 18th Mar, female found on Japanese Spindle, Horfield Parish Churchyard; 6th Oct, female found on top of a Hawthorn sapling about 1 m off the ground, Horfield Common. 2nd and 3rd records for Bristol and the region.
• Tetragnatha pinicola (Pine-tree Stretch-spider), 4th Apr, Immature female found crawling over grass, Castle Park.
• Cryptachaea blattea, 9th Apr, female found on kitchen windowsill [later also found during BNS invertebrate meetings at Arnos Vale (19th Apr) and Grow Wilder (21st Apr)].
• Ballus chalybeius (Oak Jumping Spider), 9th Apr, male found in my house crawling around window; 25th Apr, male, my garden.
• Zilla diodia, 30th May, female found on road verge, Lime Trees Rd, Goldenhill.
• Parasteatoda lunata, 1st Jun, female found to have set up home on a car door handle, Maple Rd, Bishopston. A second record for the region and a first for Bristol.
• Philodromus albidus, 8th May, male beaten from Ash tree, Horfield Common wildlife pond; 16th Oct, female found on the underside of a Malus trilobata leaf, Horfield Common. Maybe don't include (I've recorded it lots here).
• Uloborus plumipes (Garden Centre Spider), 8th Nov, female found to have established itself above the tropical house plants section in Ikea. Third record for the region, 1st for Bristol.

Flies:

• Neomyia cornicina (Small False Greenbottle), 1st Mar, male on dandelion, my garden. Second record for Bristol.
• Fly Unidentified 63, 1st Mar, female, my garden. Needs checking.
• Cheilosia albipila (Red-horned Spring Blacklet), 18th Mar, male basking on ground, Horfield Common. Needs checking.
• Chetostoma curvinerve (Honeysuckle Picturewing), 18th Mar, male found on Japanese Spindle, Horfield Parish Churchyard. 4th record for the region and a 3rd for Bristol.
• Fannia Unidentified 1, 18th Mar, female, my garden. Needs checking.
• Minettia longipennis?, 22nd March, my garden. Needs checking.
• Pegomya solennis?, 14th Apr, female, Red Lodge Garden. Needs checking.
• Bibio nigriventris? (Short-horned Bibio?), 19th Apr, female, Arnos Vale Cemetery. Needs checking.
• Empis scutellata, 4th May, female caught when sweeping pond-side vegetation, Horfield Common Wildlife Pond.

• Acanthiophilus helianthi (Smudge-winged Knapweed Picturewing), 24th Jul, female found near patch of Centaurea nigra (Black Knapweed), Horfield Common; 27th July, female caught when sweeping grass, Horfield Common; 18th Aug, female, my garden.

• Urophora quadrifasciata (Four-barred Knapweed Gall Fly), 24th Jul, males on Centaurea nigra (Black Knapweed), Horfield Common.

• Psychoda gemina, 16th Mar, hanging around Veronica hederifolia (Ivy-leaved Speedwell), my garden. First record for the region.

• Selandria serva (Small Selandria), 8th May, female resting on Glyceria notata (Plicate Sweet-grass), Horfield Common Wildlife Pond.
• Aneugmenus coronatus (Crowned Fern-sawfly), 28th May, female found on kitchen floor. The food plant - Dryopteris filix-mas (Male-fern) exists in the vicinity, my garden.
• Ametastegia carpini (Geranium Mandrel), 5th Jun, larva on Geranium pratense (Meadow Crane's-bill), Horfield Common.
• Calameuta pallipes (Pale-legged Stem-sawfly), 21st Jun, female visiting Ranunculus acris ssp. acris (Meadow Buttercup), Grow Wilder.

Molluscs:

• Littorina littorea (Common Periwinkle), 24th Dec, one old shell found half buried in the soil. Very strange how it got there! Most likely it was deposited by someone who was eating them for lunch. It was found near a half penny dated to 1912. Possibly it could have even been a remnant of White's lunch!
