Species Description
Widespread and fairly frequent below a line from the Severn Estuary to the Wash being more scattered and local elsewhere. Habitat includes: Disturbed places with well-drained calcareous soils such as roadside verges, railway banks, hedge banks, grassy places, walls, gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards, field margins, coasts, spoil heaps, wasteland etc. Growing habit: Biennial / Short-lived Perennial. Flowers: June to September. Height: Up to 1.5 m. Other names include: Black Mullein.
