Backswimmers - Notonectidae
Group Description
Comprised of 4 species. Commonly misidentified as Water Boatmen but with one vital difference - they swim on their back (Water Boatmen swim right side up). They are also predators whereas Boater Boatmen mostly feed on vegetation. Their strong legs propel them through the water with bursts of speed.
