Species Description

Widespread and fairly frequent throughout the UK but mainly in the south. Habitat includes: grassland, gardens, parks, allotments, churchyards etc. where it feeds on a range of herbaceous plants such as dandelions, nettles and thistles. Very similar to Aphrodes bicincta - from which it was originally lumped but is apparently larger, has paler wing veination and is more common but often dissection is required.
